(New COVID numbers)... They were released Monday morning.

The numbers come from the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, there are now 55 active cases of COVID 19 in the Imperial County. 3 of those are hospitalized, with 1 in Intensive Care. The new cases per day per 100,000 population are at 2.09. The State metrics for Imperial County positivity rate, 7 day average is at 2.3%. There have now 162,350 total vaccine doses administered in Imperial County. 74,251 are fully vaccinated. 88,099 have been partially vaccinated. Governor Gavin Newsom said last Friday the State of Emergency Declaration for the virus will not be lifted on June 15, as previously announced. The Governor said the disease has not been extinguished, there are still too many variants of the virus and not enough people had been fully vaccinated around the state.
