The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that injured two people.

The accident was reported at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 8 near Jeffrey Road. A pick up towing a trailer was westbound on the freeway when it went out of control and rolled over a crossing the eastbound lanes. A 14-year old was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with major injuries. A second individual sustained injuries as well. The accident remains under investigation.
