The State of California will keep the mask mandates in place until June 15, 2021.

California 's Health and Human Services Director Dr. Mark Gahly said that the state will wait a while until following the latest CDC guidelines that say  vaccinated individuals may go without masks. According to Dr. Ghaly , waiting until June 15 will give more people an opportunity to get vaccinated and businesses a chance to adjust to the new guidelines. California's current guidelines require that face coverings are to be worn in indoor settings unless it's a non-workplace setting and all individuals have been vaccinated. Even after June 15 masks will be recommended for individuals who are not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.
