(The Alamo River Bridge to be renamed).. The bridge is on Highway 115.

On Friday, November 12, the bridge will be officially renamed in honor of Marine Corporal Erik H. Silva. The Holtville native graduated from Holtville High School in 1988. Silva was killed in Combat in Iraq on April 3rd, 2003. The scheduled dedication ceremony caps a years long effort to find a fitting way to memorialize Corporal Silva. Organizersd of the initiative had initially encountered challenges raising the funds necessary to purchase and install the highway signs recognizing Silva when the collaborative efforts got underway about three years ago. The date was moved to November, after organizers learned the signs would not be ready for the planned original date of April 3rd.
