With an assist from a License Plate Reader camera , the El Centro Police Department recovered a Jeep that had been reported stolen.

The automated License Plate Reader notified ECPD that the stolen vehicle was southbound on Imperial Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. El Centro Police stopped the vehicle at a fast food restaurant parking lot on South Imperial Avenue and detained the driver and a passenger. The driver was cited for Grand Theft Auto.
