An El Centro woman reported that she had apparently been scammed trying to rent an apartment.

The woman told El Centro Police that she had sent electronic payments over the internet to rent an apartment in Santa Barbara , California.  Several money transfers were made over several days totaling $2,250 when she learned the apartment in question was not for rent. Police are investigating.
