Yuma firefighters knocked down a quick-spreading house fire Friday night.
The fire was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m. Friday in the 4300 block of West 17th Place. On arrival fire personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. It took 30 - 40 minutes for the fire to be extinguished. One person was home at the time of the fire and they were treated for burb injuries and transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center. Investigators determined the fire started in the back patio area of the house and then spread to the interior. The house sustained significant damage. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
