Beginning Friday , April 9 , 2021 , the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to individuals in Imperial County 16 and over.

The Imperial County Public Health Department says registration for appointments will continue to be available the the Strate's My Turn system. Individuals should also check with local providers for vaccine availability and appointments. 

Dr. Stephen Munday , Imperial County Health Officer said , " We've seen a significant drop in the number of COVID-19 cases nationally , statewide and locally due in large part to the number of people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Eligible residents should get vaccinated as soon as possible and with whichever vaccine is available. Increasing the number of individuals who receive the COVID-19 vaccine is an important step in ending the pandemic.

According to information released by the County Health Department Thursday morning , over 71,100 doses of vaccine have been administered in Imperial County so far. 27,410 individuals are fully vaccinated. with over 43,600 partially vaccinated.
