Imperial Police are investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred early Friday morning.

Police responded to the intersection of State Route 86 and Aten Road shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday and found a man , unresponsive laying in the roadway. The man was declared dead at the scene by Imperial County Fire Department personnel. The driver and a passenger of the vehicle involved were uninjured. They were interviewed by police and released from the scene. Imperial Police along with the Imperial County Coroner's Office are continuing the investigation. No identities were released by police.
