The State of California promoted six counties from the purple tier to red tier level of COVID-19 reporting metrics. 

Imperial County , along with Alameda , Butte , Calaveras , Santa Cruz and Solano counties , will now be able to open their businesses a bit more.  Moving into the red tier will allow indoor restaurant dining and permit gyms and movie theaters to operate indoors. The new guidelines are expected to take affect soon , possibly this week , with an Imperial County Public Health Department Order. 

Imperial County has met the State metrics for New Cases per Day per 100,000 Population and testing Positivity Rate. The County has also been able to show the State that the local disadvantaged population is being vaccinated.
