El Centro Police released more information on a felony arrest that occurred Friday.

ECPD officers stopped an SUV in the area of 4th and Ross after several reports of a reckless driver. While speaking to the driver , officers saw he was carrying a knife and also found a firearm in plain view on the front passenger seat. The driver , 29-year old Luis Juarez Orozco , of El Centro , was arrested. Officers also found drug paraphernalia. The firearm , a Beretta handgun , was determined to be one of two weapons reported stolen in 2020. El Centro detectives obtained a search warrant for Orozco's residence where they located three additional firearms. Orozco was booked at Imperial County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm ,and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
