The new are charged in the 2019 homicide of Raul Esparza in El Centro. A preliminary readiness hearing was held Thursday. During the hearing both agreed to give up their right to be present at the onset of the trial. A readiness conference was set for March 18. The co-defendants are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. Munguia is also charged with assautl with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
