(IID partners with Riverside County)...It is a transmission, distribution relocation project.

The project is to relocate a section of a major transmission line and several distribution lines in the Mecca area to accommodate construction of a new bridge. The project is underway and is expected to continue until mid April. IID is relocating 25 power poles and district telecommunication lines and provide an underground power source for new traffic signals at the intersection of Avenue 66 and Highway 111, where a new overpass is being constructed. The $2.7 million cost of the project is bing shard by th Imperial Irrigation District and the County of Riverside.
