(Local Medical Society)...Thy have sent a letter to the Governor.

The letter supports the County Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors recently voted to ask the Governor pursue vaccines for a major portion of the local population. The letter from the Imperial Valley Medical Society says the Governor knows the Imperial County has borne the brunt on the COVID 19 Pandemic from its beginning. he letter says the Imperial County was the most impacted from the onset. They say the local supply is not enough to accommodate the original Phase 1 Tie 1 group, much less the additional group of 65 year old and above. Imperial County recieved a vaccine allotment of 10,775 doses combined of the two COVID 19 vaccines. Of those, 3,250 are second doses. The letter says that is not nearly enough to vaccinate the local essential health care workers, much less those aged 65 and older.
