(Wednesday update)....COVID 19 update issued by the County Health Department.

According to the Wednesday update the death resulting from COVID 19 are now at 474. That is 9 more than what was reported Tuesday. Active cases of the virus have also increased by 30. They ar now at 1,371. There are currently 134 COVID 19 patients hospitalized, an increase of 3 over the Tuesday report. There are still 2 ICU beds available in the county. New cases per day per 100,000 are steady at 83.41. The Positivity Rate has increased slightly to 39.45% from 38.68% previously reported.

The El Centro City Council and El Centro Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday evening in closed session to discuss the recent COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic held at the Imperial Valley Mall. The combined boards are expected to talk about what was right and what was wrong about the Monday clinic and also work on ways to make the next round of vaccine distribution better.
