The Imperial County Public Health Department reports another jump in COVID-19 hospitalizations.
The numbers on Sunday show that there are 199 COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Imperial Valley. That’s an increase of 25 from the Friday numbers. ICPHD said that there are 2 ICU beds available as of Sunday. The surge follows the Thanksgiving holiday and with the upcoming Christmas and New Years holidays healthcare professionals are concerned about another Hugh jump in coronavirus patients before they can get a hold on the current spike in cases. Hospitals throughout Southern California are at or near capacity. Healthcare workers and facilities are struggling to cope with the surge.
