(Brawley has a new Mayor)...The City Council reorganized earlier this week.

During the meeting the City Council accepted the November 3rd election results. The oath of office was given to George Nava, Donnie Wharton and Ramon Castro, the 3 elected to the City Council in November. City Clerk Alma Benavidez was also sworn into another term in office. Outgoing Mayo Norma Kastnert Jauregui was recognized and honored for her tenure as mayor. Th Council elected Luke Hamby as the new Mayor and Chairperson of the Brawley City Council, successor agency to Brawley Community Redevelopment Agency, Public Financing Agency and Public Improvement Corporation.
