(Promised support starts to arrive)...Earlier in the week PMH announced the support.
Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District officials say that support from the Emergency Medical Services Authority would be arriving in preperation of a continued COVID 19 surge in Imperial County. They say a portion of that support has now arrived at PMH and is being set up by the District's BioMed team. Staff members are programming and setting up portable monitors, oxygen concentrators, infusion pumps and ventilators in Walker Auditorium, which will serve as an additional patient care area. They say this equipment will support the addition of 10 medicval surgical beds in that space and expand the hospital's capability to care for future patients. Officials say in the last wek alone, the hospital's COVID 19 inpatient count essentially doubled and is now nearing 20. The numbers ar expected to surge even higher after the Thanksgiving Holiday.
