(Methamphetamine seizure)....It happened over the weekend.

A gold Mercede Benz drove up to the checkpoint on Highway 86 near Salton City. The vehicle was sent to the secondary inspection area. Border Patrol agents searched the vehicle, using a mobile x-ray inspection system. Anomalies were discovered in the trunk of the vehicle. Agents searched the area and found four vacuum sealed packages hidden inside two car batterie boosters and two power converters. The packages, weighing 15.79 pounds, tested positive for methamphetamine. The meth was valued at approximately $35,527. The driver of the vehicle, a 37 year old male, US citizen, the vehicle and the narcotics were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
