Several agencies are investigating a Friday night accident involving a U.S. Border Patrolman.
According to information released by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection , at about 8:40 p.m. Friday , an agent was responding to the area of Anza and Bowker Roads after a report of individuals making illegal entry into the U.S. The agent reportedly was unable to avoid running over an individual laying in the road. The individual was transported to a local hospital and then transferred to Desert Regional Medical center in Palm Springs where he died. The incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol as well as CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility as well as the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.
