(Calexico Unidied School District files a claim against the City of Calexico)...The claim was filed earlier this month.

The claim is over the City's Failure to ensure construction project applicants paid the District's school impact fees as required by law. Under California law, the District must first present a claim to the city for their consideration prior to filing a lawsuit. The claim was amended October 21st to include further details that were discovered by the District. The District found the decrepencies after comparing City and School District documents. they say the documents show that the City issued building permits, but neglected to require certification from the District that the District had recieved fee payment for the project or a specific exemption from fee payments.
