(ROV announces retirement)….Debra Porter says she will retire on November 3rd.

Election Day will be her final day as Imperial County Registrar of Voters. Porter has worked for Imperial County since 1997. She has served as Registrar of Voters since 2014. In announcing her decision, Porter said she was at aplace in her life where the retirement incentive offered by the board is one that will benefit her personally and she feels it is time that she enjoy the next stage of her life. Porter said she was proud of the role she played over the years in the election process for Imperial County and the valuable experiences and friendships that the position has offered her. The Registrar of Voters position is appointed by the County Executive Officer. Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and District 2 Supervisor Luis A. Plancarte thanked Porter for her dedication to a difficult job. A special team made up of staff from the Executive Office, County Counsel and Human Resources will work closely with the Registrar of Voters/Elections staff to assist the department with the canvassing and certification of the November 3rd General Election.
