(Border Patrol agents arrest gang member)... It happened Thursday morning.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol Agents made the arrest at around 5:30 in the morning. The agents, assigned to the Calexico Station, observed a man illegally enter the United States. The agents responded and arrested the man about a mile east of the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry. He was taken to a rally point for processing. A records check revealed the man was a 47 year old native of Honduras and he was a documented member of the Mexicles gang. He had a prior conviction for entering the US illegally. He was also found to have an aggravated felony conviction for Robbery with a gun in the first degree. The conviction was out of Houston, Texas in 2010. The man was placed in Federal custody pending criminal prosecution.
