(County Jobless rate)..The latest report is for September.

According to the report issued Friday morning, the unemployment rate was recorded at 21.5 percent. The report was issued by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. While the jobless rate for September was lower than the 22 percent reported in August, it was higher than the estimated 19.3 percent recorded a year ago. The latest report compares to an unadjusted unemploymenbt rate of 10.8 percent for the state and 7.7 percent for the nation during the same period. According to the September estimate there were 14,600 eligible workers unemployed out of a labor force of 67,800. Imperial County once again had the highest unemployment rate out of the 58 California Counties.
