The Executive Director of the Salton Sea Authority has announced his retirement.

Phil Rosentrater is retiring as Natural Resources Director for the County of Riverside. Among his assignments with Riverside County was contracted management of the Salton Sea Authority since 2015. The SSA is a joint powers authority of Imperial and Riverside Counties , the Torres Martinez Band of Desert Cahuilla and the Coachella Valley Water District formed in 1993 to empower local entities to work in cooperation and consultation with the state and federal governments to revitalize the Salton Sea.
