(Brush Fire near Brawley)...It was reported late Thursday morning.
By noon a fourth alarm had been called. Fire Departments from around the County responded to assist the Imperial County Fire Department. Only Yuma and NAF were unable to respond. The fire was burning in the river bottom north of the cemetery. County Fire Chief Alfredo Estrada said no structures were damaged, and they were able to save a Homeless encampment nearby. H said a bridge was threatened, but crews were able to keep the fire away. By early evening the fir was under control. The Chief said about 80 acres of brush were burned in the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
