The City of Mexicali and the County of Imperial have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The MOU is for " Strengthening Cooperation Between the City of Mexicali and the County of Imperial." The MOU states both the City and County administrations will work in cooperation to unite mutual interests and opportunities for economic development and commerce , culture , environmental protection , tourism , science and technology , agriculture and agricultural technology , education , public health , sports and social assistance. The MOU provides a legal framework to develop programs , strengthen communication efforts and an avenue to exchange experiences in those areas of mutual interest.
