(Border Patrol responds to distress call)...It was recieved early Monday morning.

Mexicali Police called the El Centro Sector Station. They said a woman had called them. She said she and her husband had crossed into the United States illegally. The woman said her husband had died and she was lost. She said she was near a wood plank road. Agents from the Calexico Station working the area were notified. Within a half hour the woman was found. She said she had walked for three days and had run out of food and water. The agents gave her cold water and they said she appeared to be ion good health. She led the agents to where her husband had collapsed. The agents notified the Imperial County Sheriff's Office and the El Centro Foreign Operations Branch. The FOB notified the Mexican Consulate and informed them a Mexican National had died illegally crossing the International Border. The woman was processed and after a criminal records check she was returned to her Country of origin.
