(Excessive Heat Watch)…It goes into effect Friday.
The National Weather service say temperatures will range between 113 and 115 degrees, beginning Friday and continuing through at least Labor Day Monday. Hydration Stations are designated throughout the County and in various cities. Many are in the local parks. In the county, some library branches and fire stations can be used to get out of the heat. Cool Centers were eliminated by the COVID 19 pandemic. The Imperial Irrigation District reminds customers to try and conserve energy during periods of Excessive Heat. Keep thermostats at 78 degrees or above. Try not to use major appliances during the peak hours between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Use fans to help keep temperatures down. Turn off the fans and the lights when leaving a room.
