The first day of the 2020 Dove Season is Tuesday.
The season for mourning dove , white-winged dove , spotted dove and ringed turtle dove begins one half hour before sunrise. Fewer dove hunters are expected this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also because the season starts on a Tuesday instead of a weekend. Morning dove and white-winged dove have a daily bag limit of 15 , up to 10 of which may be white-winged. The possession limit is triple the daily bag limit. There is no limit on the Eurasian collared-dove and the season is open year-round for this invasive species. Non-lead ammunition is required in California. The first part of the dove season runs September 1 - September 15 with a second hunt period November 14 - December 28, 2020.
Dove hunting in Arizona will coincide with the first part of the California dove season.
