(Red Shoe Day will not be held this year)…It is an annual fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House in San Diego.

The event was canceled this year because of the COVID 19 pandemic. The Ronald McDonald House, however, is still open and operational. In fact, Chuck Day of Ronald McDonald House says they have got their COVID protocols in place and running smoothly. He says they are currently housing 35 families, and are carefully expanding to house even more. Families not stating at Ronald McDonald House are still coming by for to-go meals. Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families from outside San Diego, with children being treated at area hospitals, to stay. Numbers have indicated 25 percent of the annual residents at Ronald McDonald House are from Imperial County. Without the fundraiser this year, donations are even more important.
