The National Weather Service ( NWS ) has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Imperial and Yuma Valleys.

According to NWS , afternoon temperatures will swell above 110 degrees starting Monday and continuing into the weekend. High pressure continues to strengthen over the Four Corners area pushing the hot air into the Desert Southwest. Any thunderstorm activity that develops should stay east of the Colorado River Valley.
