The National Weather Service has issued a weather update for the desert Southwest.

The Excessive Heat Warning that had beed effect for nearly a week ended Thursday evening but things will not be much better for the Imperial Valley. The weekend will see an increase in humidity that will lower temperatures a bit but remain in the 110 degree range and heat index values several degrees above that. NWS says a return to excessive heat is possible early next week. A high pressure remains dominant over the Four Corners region and that's what affecting our weather.
