Imperial Valley College has postponed the start of all fully online classes for the Fall semester.
Classes that have a face to face component will start next week as planned. The impact of a ransomware attack on the college's computer system has pushed back the start of the fully line classes to the week of August 24. Classes that have a face to face component , including both hybrid and fully face to face , will start as scheduled the week of August 17.
The investigation into the ransomware attack continues. The campus IT Department has restored capabilities in some of the systems. The systems are gradually coming back on line with some systems being available intermittently while users may experience delays or have difficulty in accessing certain information systems. Dr. Martha Garcia , IVC Superintendent / President , said , " We appreciate the patience of our students , faculty , staff and the community as our experts work through this incident. Once the investigation is complete and all the facts are collected , we will be providing an update to the students , campus and the community."
