(Another mountain rescue)….It happened Thursday morning.
At just after 10:00 in the morning Border Patrol agents were patrolling in the Jacumba mountains. The agents heard a faint voice calling for help. After a quick search they found a man tucked under a rock. They say the man was showing signs of heat stroke. A BORSTAR Team was on scene and they immediately provided the man with intravenous fluids. They say the man was struggling to recover and air support was requested to transport him out of the rugged terrain. A National Guard Blackhawk helicopter responded. Agents carried the man over a half mile in 115 degree heat, to safe spot where the helicopter could land. The man was transported to Ocotillo where emergency medical personnel were standing by. Due to the man’s condition he was flown directly to a hospital in Imperial Valley. Border Patrol officials say the 55 year old continues to receive medical treatment.
