(Man Rescued from a canal)…It happened Sunday night.

Just before midnight surveillance cameras detected two men crossing the border illegally. The two jumped into the Briar canal, about 11 miles west of the Calexico Downtown Port. Border Patrol agents responded to the scene and found one of the men struggling to stay above water. The agents threw the man a floatation device, which was used to pull the man to safety. The man was checked for injuries, and the agents escorted the two back across the border.
