(Candidate filings)….There are several City Council races on the November ballot.

The filing period is over, except for Brawley. Their filing deadline was extended because incumbent Norma Kastner-Jarregui is not seeking reelection. Incumbents Donnie Wharton and George Nava have fired as has challenger Ronald Gray III.  The deadline was extended until Wednrsday at 5:00 pm. The election is November 3rd. For El Centro, three seats are on the ballot. Incumbents Efrain Silva, Jason Jackson and Edgard Garcia have all filed for re-election. They are being challenged by Sylvia Marroquin, Martha Cardenas Singh and Sonia Eileen Carter. The Imperial Ballot includes incumbents Robert Amparano and Darrell Pechtl and challengers Susan Paradis and Katie Burnworth. In Calexico voters will choose 3 4-year seats and one 2-year seat. Incumbents filing for re-election are Camilo Garcia, Bill Hodge and Lewis Pacheco. They are being challenged for the 4-year seat by Michael Christopher Mayne, Javier Moreno, Joong Kim, Gloria Romo , and Jason Jung. Incumbent Morris Reisen is being challenged for the 2-year seat by Nichael Anthony Jeffers and Raul Urena. . Calipatria has 4 candidates for two seats. Incumbent Maria Nava Froelich and challengers Sylvia Chavez, Jackie Riddel and George Prieto. In Westmorland there are 2 seats on the ballot and only the incumbents have filed. Justina Cruz and Xavier Mendez are automatically re-elected.
