Imperial Valley College is dealing with a Ransomware attack on their computer systems.
IVC has been working since Thursday to restore programs and files that have been compromised by the attack. A cyber security expert is working with the community college's IT Department to restore the system. The college system was shut down as a precaution midmorning Thursday when the ransomware was first detected. The shutdown includes key campus systems including the telephone system. The college is continuing to work gathering and processing as much information as possible to assess what systems and files have been affected. No timetable was given for when the systems might be restored nor was there any information about the demands being made by the ransomware criminals.
