U. S. Border Patrol agents arrested two Holtville residents attempting to smuggle heroin and fentanyl.

Sunday evening , agents at the Interstate 8 checkpoint just east of Yuma , referred a pick up truck to secondary inspection where 20 packages of heroin and 1 package of fentanyl were discovered. The driver , a 38-year old man from Holtville , and the passenger , a 36-year old man also from Holtville , both U. S. citizens , were arrested and charged with smuggling drugs.
