(Cool Centers)….They have become victims of the pandemic.

In a normal year, Cool Centers would have been set up throughout the county. They provided an air conditioned location for those needing a break from the extreme heat during the summer in Imperial County. This year, because of social distancing and mandated closures, there are no Cool Centers. Communities have come up with alternative. They are called Comfort Stations. Most are shaded areas in a local park. To find a Comfort Station, go to the website of the city or community nearest you. Brawley, El Centro and Imperial have their Comfort Stations listed.
