(Bail review was set for Tuesday)….Ricardo Gabriel Valdez was arraigned late last week.

The Brawley Police Officer was arraigned on one count of rape, one count of sexual battery, one count of burglary and one count of assault by a public officer. During the arraignment, the defense attorney requested a reduction in bail, from $500,000 to $55,000. The Superior Court Judge determined Valdez still posed a flight and public safety risk and denied the request. Due to an emergency rule stipulation, the defense was granted an automatic bail review. The arraignment was also continued.
