(More mosquitoes test positive)…Mosquito pools in Brawley and El Centro were tested.

One near South Palm Avenue in Brawley and the other near West Main Street in El Centro. The Imperial County Public Health Department said both of the pools tested positive for Saint Louis encephalitis and the other also tested positive for West Nile Virus. The samples in Brawley tested positive for both viruses. The samples were collected between June 26th and June 27th. The Health Department says there have been no confirmed cases of human infection from ether of the viruses in Imperial County. County Health Officer Dr. Stephen Munday said all residents should take precautions by using insect repellant when outside. He said all residents need to b proactive, now more than ever, in protecting themselves and their families from all illnesses circulating in our community.
