(American Red Cross was first on scene)….They were at the Niland fire Sunday evening.

They handed out vouchers to the displaced residents so they could stay at a hotel, temporarily. The American Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties are continuing to provide assistance to those affected by the Niland Fire. Disaster workers have supported a temporary Evacuation Point and are continuing to provide food, safe shelter, health services and more for the over 100 displaced individuals who lost their homes in the fire. The Red Cross is working closely with local emergency management and their partners to coordinate ongoing relief efforts. Sunday at the fire scene, the Red Cross provided food and hydration to the first responders as they worked through the night and into the morning to contain the fire that destroyed 29 structures in the Niland community.
