Governor Gavin Newsom issued guidance to close bars in seven counties.

According to the Governor , bars in Fresno , Kern , Kings , Los Angeles , and Tulare Counties are required to close. The Governor also recommended that bars in Riverside , Sacramento , San Bernardino , Santa Barbara , Stanislaus , and Venture Counties close. He added thatImperial County , which does not have open bars or restaurant seating , keep the bars closed.

Community spread of COVID-19 continues to be a concern across the state  , and in particular for counties on the County Monitoring List. Community spread increases the likelihood of expanded transmission of the virus. The Governor stated that counties will continue to take action to limit the transmission of COVID-19.
