The City of Mexicali has issued additional restrictions and screening measures of southbound travelers at the border.

The County of Imperial received notification late Friday that Mexicali would implement these measures over Father's Day weekend. The measures include mandatory face masks or facial coverings , temperature screening , no more than two persons per vehicle , no alcoholic beverages  ( unless accredited or permitted ) , and travel for essential reasons only. According to the City of Mexicali , monetary fines and / or up to 36 hours arrest will be imposed on violators.
