The City of Imperial has a new City Manager.

He may be new to the job but he's certainly not new to the City. Dennis Morita was named to fill the position of City Manager at Wednesday nights regular council meeting. Morita has served as interim City Manager since the December 2019 departure of Stefan Chatwin. He is intimately familiar with the city's operation as he has served as the City of Imperial's legal counsel for nearly 42 years. Morita , a life-long Imperial Valley resident , signed a three-year agreement and will take over the position on July 1, 2020.
