(Border restrictions extended)…This is the third time the restrictions have been extended.

It is due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Mexico and the United States agreed to extend the restrictions for 30 days more, until July 21. The restrictions are on non-essential traffic between the two countries. The decision was made following a review of the development of the spread of COVID 19 in both countries. The restrictions will remain in the same terms as implemented since March 21. Both countries will continue coordinating sanitary measures in the border region. Northbound crossings remain open for US Citizens, legal permanent residents, people with work visas, and those traveling for education or medical reasons, among other reasons deemed essential. Crossings will be closed for recreational and tourist travel. The restrictions were also extended along the Canadian border.
