The Imperial County Farm Bureau awarded scholarships totaling $55,000.
Twenty-nine local students who are pursuing educations and careers in the agricultural industry were presented the scholarships from five different scholarship funds administered by the Farm Bureau.
Ten Matthew LaBrucherie Memorial Scholarships for a total of $10,000 were awarded this year. Recipients were John Cummings , Wyatt Hensley and Cameron Abatti of Brawley Union High School . Anika Herrera , Kimberly Aguirre and Daniela Soto of Calexico High School. Sarah Grizzle and Keeley Poloni of Holtville High School. Gavin Macias of Imperial High School and Sydney Mange of Freedom Academy of Imperial Valley.
Six Raul Rodriguez Memorial Scholarships totaling $5,500 were warded. Recipients include Bradley Denton and Derek Denton of Central Union High School. Charles Peraza of Brawley Union High School. Keeley Poloni of Holtville High School. Daniela Soto of Calexico High School and Mariah Zendejas of Calipatria High School.
Two Jack and Pauline McConnell Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Bradley Denton and Derek Denton of Central Union High School.

Imperial County , through the Agricultural Benefit Fund , will continue to match the ICFB's scholarships up to $3,000 per student a year.
