(Special Penalty Waiver)…Available for those impacted by COVID 19.

Imperial County Treasurer/Tax Collector Karen Vogel has announced that property owners directly impacted by COVID 19 and are unable to pay their second installment of their 2019 Property Tax should contact the Tax Collector’s office to request a Waiver of Penalty form. Each waiver request will require documentation on how the taxpayer was impacted by the virus that interfered with their ability to deliver payment by the May 1 deadline. All requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will be approved as allowed by law. The Treasurer/Tax Collector’s office is currently closed to the public, however, essential staff is working to answer phone calls, respond to emails, and process payments. Cash payments will not be accepted at this time. Property owners are encouraged to obtain a cashier’s check or money order and submit the payment by mail. A walk-up pay box is located at the front entrance and a drive-up pay box is located in the West Parking lot of the County Administration Center, 940 West Main Street in El Centro.
