Border Patrol agents at the Pine Valley Immigration Checkpoint discovered nearly 57 pounds of methamphetamine early Friday morning.
At about 1:25 a.m. a car approached the checkpoint and a canine team alerted to the vehicle. In secondary inspection , agents found 56.88 pounds of methamphetamine inside of three duffel bags in the back seat of the car. The meth has a value estimated at over $62,500. The car's driver , a 42-year old man , a U.S. citizen , and his 18-year old daughter were arrested.
